I think you might confuse the beginners on yet another point about weight loss or bulking. You are correct there 100% . But people seeking out knowledge from you may think they need to go into a caloric overload just to get into shape while weight lifting and doing other exercises. So in the first phase of getting in shape all you will be doing is basically toning those muscles and getting them used to being worked out.

I love this. I am in recovery for anorexia bulimia and kinda switched ends after rehab and have trouble with restricting and binge without the purge and I’ve gained weight. When I get committed to fitness I take it to the extreme (and numbers are really bad for Ana) so counting macros sends me into a dark place where I’m literally doing crunches til I fall asleep and end up with bruises down my spine etc. So I give up and repeat the whole process. Now I’ve gained weight and I want to get fit and it’s been rough.

I want to start lifting, and only have time to go to the gym in the morning. But I only eat from 12pm-8pm, could this affect my results?
