Medical conditions can get worse with running.
Short distance running
Start with shorter distances and gradually increase in time. Maintain a walk-run routine if you are a new runner.
Do not run very fast. The base rule is that you should be abble to talk to the person running along with you.
Make sure you do some warm-up exercises before you start running. A gradual warm-up enables the muscles to get into a position to do the run.
Do not run all seven days a week. Run four days a week, cross train one day and rest for two days, as in go about your day to day activities. Excessive running can lead to injuries.
Run on a variety of surfaces – on trails, roads, grass etc, so that your body gets used to all terrains.
