The Strava app for serious runners, then get a heart rate monitor to view the data post jog, then get a cadence sensor. Try to get about 160 to 170 steps per minute. Land flat footed instead of heel striking, keep your swinging arms going forwards and backward instead of crossing your chest.

I’m a mountain biker I had lots of fun with my bike but then it started to break and made my wallet empty. It’s a addiction I have I can’t stop I used to be in shape ride uphills like they were downhills and so on and then my bike broke for half a year and in that time I never exercised so I got out of shape so I’m closing the book and starting new which is hard for me.

As a newby, running on a flat, level surface is a good idea too. I started out running on trails and got ITBS. Iliotibial Band Syndrome(ITBS) is one of the most common overuse injuries among runners. It occurs when the iliotibial band, the ligament that runs down the outside of the thigh from the hip to the shin, is tight or inflamed. The IT band attaches to the knee and helps stabilize and move the joint. The outside of my knee would start hurting when running dowhill. In the past, I would just push through it, but I heard if you do that you can develop permanent scar tissue. So, listen to your body, and if in doubt walk.
