@Marian O’Rourke I had exactly the same experience – L1 fracture and 3 months in a back brace. Each fracture is different, so I reckon it’s difficult/risky to say what will help. What surprised me regarding my recovery (still ongoing 3 years later…), doing exercise has been a massive help – it might seem counter-intuitive as it risks over-doing it, or injury, but small bits of exercise every day is what worked best for me. Light stretching daily is also a massive help. Flexibility and strength are the main things, as well as alignment and relaxation. God, it’s not easy, breaking your back!

Hi just wondering after three months of wearing a back brace when I fracture L1 vertebra would this exercise be ok to tighten the tummy mussels as the are very loose from the brace
