Opal Sky says:

I’m working on running a 5k. I’ve ran a 5k before but I got out of the habit, so I had to start again from ground zero. Right now I want to work out 5 days a week, 2 hours a day. I’m overweight and my goal is to lose weight and build muscle in my legs, abs, and arms. I’m really close to running a 5k and once I run a 5k I want to make it a habit and run a 5k three days a week. Then I want to focus on running faster and longer. I’ve been working really hard on controlling my diet and I’ve been recording everything I eat for nearly a year. I’ve been focusing on less processed sugar and sodium, I became a vegetarian this year so I try to get plenty of plant-based protein, and my current goal is to eat a salad a day. (I already eat plenty of fruit) I already know what kind of strength training I want to focus on. But what I’m wondering is this: Is 2 days of strength training enough? Should I mix cardio and strength training? At what point should I get better running shoes? Is it ok to work out 5 days in a row and use the 2 day weekend to recover? I have never had any fitness related injuries because I never overdo it. For weight lifting, I typically do 10 reps, take a short 30-second break, and repeat two more times and I take it really slowly/carefully. I’ve been noticing gradual results in the muscle department but not in the weight loss department. I lost about 30 pounds and then I plateaued. Are 2-hour workouts too much? Not enough? I don’t want to have a personal trainer because I don’t want someone to yell at me or strongly urge me to push myself beyond my capabilities. From my experience, some people don’t understand it’s more difficult to work out for those who are overweight, because they’re carrying so much weight while they do it. I’d rather be my own personal trainer because I know my own physical limits and I’d rather push myself a little bit more each time that I work out. But it’s difficult when you don’t know how to plan your workout properly. So right now I’ve just been focusing on running then stretching and occasionally weight lifting and I don’t feel like I’m progressing enough.

I know that I am super late to the game on this video but I just wanted to say thank you so much for making it! I’m a broke college student and I’ve really fallen in love with fitness but don’t have the slightest clue when it comes to anything besides cardio. I’m super pumped to incorporate all of this stuff in my workouts!! Thank you soooo much!!

CN Emrani says:

Hi Heidi, I’m really struggling with finding a good workout plan. Is there any way you can make a personal workout plan for me?

This was awesome. I’ve decided to start weight training and I’m going to follow this as a guide as I start my new journey.

Between the royalty-free music choice, the hair, and the personality & mannerisms, I am convinced this is Jenna Marbles’ sister.
